Using RoleBug

These terms are an agreement between you and RoleBug (rolebug.com). By creating an account or using our service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use RoleBug.

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use RoleBug for an organization, you must have authority to accept these terms for it. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

What RoleBug provides

RoleBug helps marketers understand job requirements, explore opportunities, review how their experience relates to a role, prepare application materials, and organize their job search. Some features use AI and public research.

You decide which roles to pursue, which edits to accept, and what to send. RoleBug does not apply to jobs, contact employers, or make employment decisions on your behalf. Features, availability, and research coverage may change as the product develops.

Your account

Provide accurate account information and keep your email and sign-in access secure. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Do not share access, impersonate someone else, or transfer your account without our permission. Tell us at hello@rolebug.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

The current beta is invitation-only. An invitation does not authorize bypassing access controls or inviting others through your account.

Your content and documents

You retain your rights in the resumes, work examples, job-search information, and other material you provide. You give RoleBug permission to host, process, transmit to service providers, and display that material as needed to provide and protect the service, carry out your requests, and comply with law. This permission does not make your private workspace public.

You must have the rights and permissions needed for the content you upload. Do not provide confidential employer or client information that you are not allowed to share, or misrepresent your qualifications or achievements.

As between you and RoleBug, you may use, edit, download, and share the application materials generated for you. AI output may resemble other output and may not qualify for intellectual-property protection. You are responsible for checking third-party rights and the accuracy of what you use.

AI output, scores, and research

Review generated documents, facts, dates, names, and claims before using them. AI can make mistakes or miss context. A fit score is a guide based on the available information, not a probability of being hired or a certification that you qualify. Research findings describe the job descriptions studied, not every employer or the entire market.

Listings can change or close. Confirm eligibility, availability, compensation, and application instructions with the employer. RoleBug does not guarantee interviews, offers, employment, or any particular search outcome. It does not provide legal, immigration, or regulated professional advice.

Subscriptions and payments

RoleBug offers Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly paid plans. Launch rates are $7.99 USD every seven days, $19.99 USD each month or $49.99 USD every three months. Your promotional rate stays locked while your subscription remains active. Creating an account does not authorize a charge. You choose to subscribe through checkout.

Subscriptions renew at the selected interval and subscription rate until cancelled. You can update payment details, view invoices, and manage your subscription through Account settings → Billing. Our cancellation and refund policy explains when access ends and when you can request a refund.

Clearly labelled test checkouts do not collect real money, create paid access, or authorize a future charge.

Reasonable usage limits apply to keep the service available and prevent abuse or excessive automated use.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel anytime through Account settings → Billing. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your Pro access continues until the end of your paid billing period.

If RoleBug isn’t right for you, email hello@rolebug.com within seven days of your first subscription payment for a full refund. This offer applies to your first payment only.

Renewal payments and unused subscription time are non-refundable, except for duplicate or incorrect charges, or where a refund is required by law. Cancellation does not automatically issue a refund.

Acceptable use

Do not use RoleBug to break the law, violate someone’s rights, send spam, or create deceptive applications. Do not attempt to access another person’s account or private data, bypass security or usage controls, introduce malicious code, disrupt the service, or extract private information through automated requests.

Good-faith security reports are welcome at hello@rolebug.com. Avoid accessing other users’ data or causing disruption while investigating a problem.

RoleBug and external services

RoleBug and its licensors retain rights in the RoleBug software, brand, interface, and original research materials, except for your content and rights otherwise granted to you. You may use the service and its intended download or sharing features for your job search. Do not present RoleBug’s research or branding as your own or suggest an endorsement we have not given.

Employer sites, job boards, sign-in providers, and other external services have their own terms. We do not control their availability, hiring decisions, or content. Your use of a linked external service is a separate relationship with its operator.

Ending or suspending access

You can stop using RoleBug at any time and request account deletion in Settings or by email. Download documents you want to keep before deleting your account. The Privacy policy explains deletion and retention.

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks, a violation of these terms, or legal requirements. Where practicable and appropriate, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve it. We may end or materially change the beta; where practicable, we will give advance notice so you can save your work.

Availability and responsibility

RoleBug is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free output, or suitability for every purpose. Keep your own copies of important documents.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, RoleBug is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost opportunities or profits, or losses caused by third-party employers or services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, excuses fraud or willful misconduct, or removes mandatory consumer rights. Where a legal protection applies to you, it takes priority over a conflicting term here.

Questions and disputes

Please contact hello@rolebug.com with a concern and enough information for us to understand it. We will try to resolve it in good faith. These terms do not require mandatory arbitration or prevent you from using a court or consumer protection process available under applicable law.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent allowed by law. Our failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive it on another.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as RoleBug changes. We will post the updated terms with a new date and provide appropriate notice of material changes. If a change requires your agreement under applicable law, we will obtain it. If you do not agree to updated terms, stop using the service and contact us about closing your account.
